Here at Paraparaumu College we run a Positive Behaviour for Learning system. We aim to teach, recognise and reward positive behaviour. Together with students and whānau we have developed the CARE acronym - Collaborative, Active Learner, Respectful and Effective Self Manager.

Students will be taught how to behave to help their own learning and the learning of others and will be praised for behaving in a way that helps learning. The school uses a system of CARE cards to acknowledge this positive behaviour. Students will occasionally receive a CARE card when they have been spotted doing something positive. Students can then hand these to their form teacher and begin to save up for rewards such as the coveted morning tea with Mr Fountain (and a picture on his twitter feed).
