Pathways and Gateway

Pathways offers students an opportunity to gain credits while learning life, work and study skills. This is a line on the timetable.

Gateway is a programme where students are given the opportunity to gain experience in a workplace of their choice. Alongside this they will be expected to gain 20 credits from a related industry.

Students who are accepted onto Gateway will usually be in a Pathways' class. The main purpose of this is to ensure that they will gain the minimum 20 credits required for eligibility for Gateway and have the opportunity to plan their future pathway.

Students who are not already a part of Gateway but are awaiting entry or need further development before entering Gateway are also able to enrol in Pathways.

This is an end of year unit for Year 10 students to take a close look at themselves and to start teaching the skills and knowledge they need to begin identifying possible careers and courses that might suit them.
